High enough for good ankle support, light enough to move and cut well. I see no need to pay hundreds of dollars for basketball shoes. These will do everything that you need them to do. I have played basketball in these several times now. We play for about 2 hours and find them to be very comfortable. I wear a size 13 in other brands and these fit just as good.
